What's up this week

This week in Matrix Algebra we will have our first exam on Monday. Then we will move on to iterative techniques for solving linear systems including Jacobi and Gauss-Seidel. We will also look at the second Matlab project for the semester.

This week in Calculus II we will continue our look at integration techniques including Integration by Parts, Trig Substitutions, and Partial Fraction Decomposition. This will lead to an exam at the beginning of next week.

Physics C is wrapping up Optics.

Physics A is crunching away at Wave Motion.

In Mandarin I, we are learning alternative ways of greeting, words that express feelings, likes and dislikes.

In Mandarin II this week, we have a quiz on the Airport unit and we will learn the tourist places we will visit in China and sightseeing dialogue. Students will also do presentations on the topics of the Imperial Palace Museum, the Terra Cotta soldiers, the Summer Palace and Empress Cixi.

In English IV, we are engaging in a romantic poetry extravaganza this week and next. Students will be working in groups to "teach" two poems by their assigned author to the class.

This week in U.S. History, we will continue our unit on Early Modern America, focusing on the "new imperialism" of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We will also have our first unit exam on Thursday.
