'Twas the week before exams and all through TGA
Not a student was sleeping, it was not their way.
The teachers all hurried to get the work done
With students along for the ride and the fun.
The semester had been long and quick just the same.
“We must study for exams,” the students exclaim
After working so much all throughout the fall,
This was so no time to be dropping the ball.
Exams were scheduled for throughout the week,
Causing both students and staff to shriek.
How can we manage to finish all this work,
Without going fully and totally berserk?
The answer came in the way of little events,
Like the Choral Program that UT presents.
Swimming was planned, too, at the TSD pool,
Because swimming outside would just be too cruel.
The exams would be difficult, this much is true,
So the teachers made sure there was good review.
The schedule was made for each cours's big final test,
Until they were over, the students would be obsessed.
Studying and studying all through the day and the night,
Taking breaks on Facebook to speak of their plight.
They study and study and study some more,
About their learning, these kids are hardcore.
Calculus, Physics, Mandarin, and even PE
(with hopes this time of no dislocated knee)
US History, English, Biology and of course Chem,
This is from where the sleeplessness would stem.
When the last exam is over (on December ten)
The real world we will see again.
Students will be packing and cleaning their rooms
With dust rags, mops, sweepers and brooms.
That Thursday night, for those so inclined,
As a way to escape from the last week’s grind.
A trip to UT’s theatre, named for Clarence Brown
To see a play that is world renown.
Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” is the play we will see.
A classic of literature, we all would agree.
After the play has ended to TGA we will go
With the holiday spirit beginning to grow.
December eleventh will be our last day for the year
Through the semester we did persevere.
A slide show will wrap up this last, final day
With photos from the scavenger hunt on display.
After the shows and TSD cafeteria lunch,
Off to the buses we’ll take the whole bunch.
Home for the holidays-a long three week break
For which some of the time they may be awake.
As the buses and vans pull out of the lot,
Hopefully with students that have nothing forgot,
For dorms will be closed during the holiday break,
For all of the house managers’ sanity’s sake.
We at TGA wish you a great, restful holiday time
With family and friends and events so sublime!
On January fourth we return back to school
(please bring your coat as it will surely be cool).
