Hey all! You probably received an email yesterday with regards to music lessons-we were going to collect this information in a survey in July (watch for it, the survey is still coming) but as I met with Matt Coker, coordinator of the music program yesterday, he wanted to know who needed what lesson asap.
I had a really nice meeting with him. We've come up with a grading rubric and have decided to have a recital on Feb 27, 2010. He's really excited about working with our students (and we are excited to be able to provide continuing lessons to those that have been studying music for years).
Lessons will be held on Saturday mornings. Since we are going home so often this year, we will have 8 lessons in the fall, 8 in the spring (+recital)...Attendance at these lessons will be crucial as will practice in the weeks between lessons-perhaps our music club can help make sure everyone is practicing???
The books for the junior problem solving class arrived yesterday and I am so excited about this class-I think it is something every student should have to take-it is going to be loads of fun and get all of us really working our brains!!!
